Sudden and Safe

It’s the small things

Within this space

Our own universe

It’s shining lights

And easy breaths

The way I can be

With each second you gave

I play with the ifs

I begged for a guide

Every pointless action

Every guileless miss step

Abstract became truth

I gave in

You gave me a place to play

Sudden and safe

My passionate grin

Is my plea

And my thanks

Pieces and Apologies

I’m tired of apologies

That slip from my mouth

Far too easily

And settle in my chest

Like an anxious storm

With lightning strikes

That illuminate my flawed perception

And thunder that makes my hands shake

I want to speak with confidence

I want to listen to myself

Like a secret melody

Playful in fantasy

And gentle but sure

I wish that I could

Give away all my secrets

I wish that I knew

Each and every consequence

And did not deny the steps

I take every day

But still these apologies

Fall

And break

Upon the ground

And I am left

Settling for sharp pieces
