With each burning star

Unanswered prayers

Unheard pleas

Unhinged

Untethered

As you fall to your knees

Your fractured heart

Hammering in your chest

A catastrophe at every turn

As the other shoe dangles pricariously

But blink my friend

Change that perspective

Stop asking the questions with no answers

And look to yourself

To breathe

To plead

To fail

To succeed

Look inwards my friend

And find more stars

Than in a galaxy

And each shines as a part of you

Each burns

To turn you into a phoenix

My Fellows of the Melancholy Dreams

I dreamt of something bittersweet

I awoke to find myself incomplete

As if life was nothing but that dream

But still I wake

My eyes open

And I find that in one way or another

We are all incomplete

My fellows of the melancholy dreams

Grasping at one last straw

Biding time

The things we saw

The losses we felt in our bones

The places we know

That remain unknown

That indiscriminate space

In a place

Where we can only feel what’s missing

Still…

Bittersweet

Is still sweet

Still…

Love and loss are bound to meet

And alive is how we feel

Incomplete
